If you want to get hard drive restore back from crashed hard drive, then you simply cannot afford to leave this site without finding out how you can get hard drive restore back easily and quickly by yourself.

This will be the second part of my crashed hard drive recovery. You can read the first part of crashed hard drive restore here.

Hard Drive Restore – Physical Bad Sectors

It is more trouble to get hard drive restore from physical bad sectors, but if the hard drive is still under warranty, then the best solutions I can suggest to you is to get your computer vendors to solve if for you. However if your hard drive are no warranty anymore, then you have to fix it by own or just send it for repair. The most common type of hard drive restore software here is partition recovery software which is running by repartition the hard drive and segregate the physical bad sectors through hidden physical bad sectors and its hard drive space.

The specific approach is like this. First start PM, select the “Operations” menu under the “Check” command, and scan the hard drive directly, after marked the bad clusters, select the “Operations” menu under “Advanced” → “bad sector retset”, to isolate the bad cluster into a separate partition, and then run through the “Hide partiton” command to hide the partition.

Another method is use FDRIVE to get hard drive restore. First back up all the necessary data in the hard drive, then used FDRIVE to do the partition and format a master hard drive. If it is beyond repairing, FDRIVE will tend to get it repair, and record down the percentage of the workdone. Press CTRL + BREAK to terminate the task by force, then by using a total capacity x percentage, you can calculate the normal capacity of the hard drive.

Note: You can get more details of using FDRIVE at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255867 on topic How To Use FDRIVE to Partition and Format a Master Hard Drive.

After using FIDSK to form a logical partition, estimate the size of bad sectors at hard drive space here. Normally it is abut 10% of it, then divide another logical drive. No need to format this small partition as you can remove it after completion of the repairing work, which will hide all bad sectors at once. Although this method will directly cause some hard drive space lose, but overall the hard drive will become more stable after reconstruction.

Low-level format Hard Drive Restore

If all the above methods cannot get hard drive restore. Then the only choose is only low level formatting. However this strongly not recommended to use as low level cell is blank drive and is divided into tracks, sectors cylinder, standard address information and other information. Low level formatting will result in severe wear and tear on the hard drive and worsen the condition of physical bad sectors for existing hard drive. Moreover the low grid will delete will the exiting data which is irreversible process.

Low-level format can only be completed in the DOS. It only can perform for a hard drive and not for separate partition. Although some bad tracks and bad sectors only can fix through low level formatting but it cannot repair those scratches on physical hard drive. The solution to fix these scratches bad sectors are marked the location of bad sectors, lock it up to by pass the operating system, so these bad sectors will no more use by operating system which will prevent the spread of these physical bad sectors to larger area in hard drive.

Finally I wish to warn you that low level formatting operation will shorten the lifetime of the hard drive. Therefore do not use this method unless it is necessary. For details information you do some search on Google for low level format hard drive restore.

Crashed Hard Drive – Learn Free Hard Drive Data Recovery Service

How You Can Quickly & Easily Get Crashed Hard Drive Recovery Without Wasting Ton of Money

Let me cut right into the chase. If your computer’ has crashed hard drive and cannot enter the window system after launching; and cannot read the hard drive in computer C mode, then most likely there computer hard drive is damaged, and what first you think about is how to recover the crashed hard drive.

There are few cases of crashed hard drive I wish to discuss here. For examples, hard drive weird sounds, hard drive bad sectors, loss of hard drive and crashed hard drive due to formatting. After identifying the type of hard drive’s damage, only then we can consider how to get crashed hard disc recovery.

Hard Drive Crash -Weird Sounds

When we open or copy a file, or open or run a program, hard drive become very slow and keep on reading the drive again and again.   Then it will show up an error or windows show prompt “cannot read” or “cannot write to file”; in some serious case there are abnormal friction sound like “Cha Cha” from the computer case which you can notice it when you put your ear near to the case.

Crashed Hard Drive- Types of Bad Sectors

During the system scan, there is a red “B” mark appear at the hard drive section. When formatting hard drive, a standstill will happen during the process and cause the formatting hard drive keep showing error and exit without finish formatting hard drive. If we use “Fdrive” command to do the partition, to a certain extent it will keep repeating forward and backward and cannot completed the command. In this case there is possibility of the bad sectors appear at the hard drive.

Now we have to identify first whether the bad sectors appear at hard drive is a logical bad sectors or physical bad sectors. It is very simple. First go to DOS by using boot drive, and enter the command “scandrive x:”, the scandrive will start to scan and check the hard drive. If there is logical bad sectors, then it will pop up a dialog box, just select “Fix it” to get primary repair at logical bad sectors. However, if the scandrive stall at the middle, then it is big possibility to have physical bad sectors at the hard drive, which we have start to consider to recover the crashed hard drive.

Repairing Logical Bad Sectors

For physical bad sectors, first we have to isolate it to minimize the data loss and prevent it from spreading to a much larger area. For logical bad sectors, we can try to repair it ourselves. Simple! Just switch on the computer and start the Windows program, first go to “My Computer” and select the logical bad sectors in hard drive by clicking the right mouse button, then select “Properties” → “Tools” → “start check” on the pop-up “ScanDrive”, select “Full” → select “Automatically Fix Errors” check mark, then click the “Start” and the windows begin to scan and repair the partition.

However, if the system did not run scanning during boot time or already been blocked from accessing Windows systems, then we may use a floppy drive or CD-ROM to reboot the system. Then run “scandrive” at the appropriate drive. For example, “A:” run Scandrive*: ( Note: * means to scan the hard drive at the appropriate drive), which will start to scan the hard drive partition and start to repair logical bad sectors.

Normally, logical bad sectors can easily been repaired under this method. You can do it by yourselves without seeking help from the professional which will save you plenty of money and get the same kind of mediocre results they are getting, or you can hire an expert and let him to the recover your crashed hard drive back.
