I just want to either erase H: altogether because it looks/is ridiculous to have wasted 3 GB just sit there.

I believe it was done so that one could backup the drive with some “recovery” back-up data. Move everything from H to the other partition. If there are no files on it, then just use your partitioning software to delete H. I don’t know what o/s you have. I have Windows 2000. Right-click on “my computer” and open computer management. You can manage your hard drive partitions from there. It is much better though to use a partitioning software (such as Partition Magic) for this though. After you delete H, you will be able to reassign that space to another partition.
